My favourite shop for just the right outfit or accessory to treat my inner and outer self is Joelle's. At Joelle's, the service is personalized and genuine and is all about making YOU feel great. From being fitted in the perfect pair of jeans to having one of Joelle's experts create an entire outfit, it’s a shopping experience unlike any other!

Visit Joelle’s at 457 Brant Street in Burlington, and check her out online at www.joelles.com.

Owners Paula and John are avid and experienced runners and athletes who offer both selection and advice on shoes, workout accessories and the latest running and walking clothing. Go there for one on one attention and to be immersed in the tips and personal advice they offer to their clients.

Visit them online at www.FootTools.ca. Mention TP when you’re at their store at 2013 James Street in Burlington, and get a runner’s discount on shoes and apparel.

It's been over two years since Far Samji, owner of the Burlington Orthotic Centre, attended one of my Tread Powerfully® classes and diagnosed my aching feet en-route. Since then, Far and her staff have worked with countless Tread Powerfully® walkers and family members to assess their gaits and put them in the shoe option that will keep those toes, arches and possibly bunions and corns, pain-free.

Check them out online at www.burlingtonorthotics.ca. When you book your appointment, tell them you’re a Tread Powerfully® participant, and receive 30% off retail prices for shoe gear.

It's been four years since I became a customer of Plan B Organic Farms (visit them online at www.planborganicfarms.ca), by purchasing a weekly "share" of certified organic vegetables, salad greens, herbs and fruit.

Picking up your box from one of their depots or getting home delivery means that you are supporting this local Flamborough farm, established in 1997; each week, you get a little surprise opening up your box, seeing what combo of items will be on your menu for the week.

They have updated their operations to include an online ordering system which allows you to purchase a one-time share to try it out, or sign-up for a weekly or bi-weekly delivery.

Investing in one’s health means purchasing things like shoes, water bottles and fun fitness wear for yourself and your family. I’ve collected a lot of unclaimed fitness items in my car over the years and therefore recommend Mabel's Labels (www.mabel.ca) for its wide-product range aimed at keeping you connected to your “stuff”. One of their co-founders, Julie Ellis, is an avid TPer and racer and recommends their “Bag Tag” line as a way of getting personal identification tags for your running shoes to hold critical emergency contact information.

Over three years ago I started practicing yoga with Tracy Ng and was thrilled when she opened her own yoga studio. Although I was the most inflexible person around and was terrified of being silent for 60-75 minutes, I now crave the mental and physical balance in my week and I am still amazed by the the way it healed my knee injury. Upon entering the studio. you leave aside the worries of the day and get sacred time to sweep away the stresses.

Check them out online at www.beyogabe.com and take advantage of their 30 days for $30 offer for new members.
