The human body is an amazingly intricate and
powerful machine. And guess what: you own one.
Often we treat how our bodies operate as a
mystery, taking them for granted, and assuming they will always be
there for us.
Many of us focus on energy intake, reading about
what we should eat to create balance in our bodies. While this is
important, we also need to consider how we expend energy in a way that
is effective, makes us feel well for the present and future and does
something more for us than just burning calories.

Whether you are participating in our outdoor
signature Tread Powerfully®
power walking and muscle circuit classes or sweating in one of our many
indoor strength classes, you will elevate your heart rate into its
target zone because we believe in functional fitness that has your body
moving naturally.
Your shoulders will be back, your core and
abdominals will be engaged and contracted and you will be cued the
entire time to make each workout your best.
Your movements will be deliberate, and you’ll be
firing on all cylinders, burning calories along the way.
Muscle Building
During every class you will build muscle in your
upper and lower body. Whether you are outdoors in our signature power
walking/muscle circuit classes using hand weights as you move through a
series of squat presses or completing a box jump, you will work every
major muscle group. As you build muscle, your body will need to use
more energy in order to sustain itself and its newly defined muscles.
Now your body will be working harder, and continue to burn even more calories
throughout your day (even while you sleep!).

Increased Energy
When your fitness experience is led by an
instructor who loves to move, puts her heart and soul into her
preparation and teaching and believes in the power of community you
can’t help but be influenced by this sincere energy. Even after just
one class with us you will notice an increase in personal energy that
will leave you mentally, emotionally, and physically ready to face the
rest of your day and week.
This kind of energy comes from the collective
group as well as the release of mood-enhancing endorphins in your body
from purposeful exercise that act like natural ‘uppers’.
Many individuals have used our classes to help
combat the winter blues, stay mentally sharp through busy times and
connect to their inner and physical power. The energy gained has
provided them with a lift that has kept them centered, driven, and
better able not only to cope, but also excel at daily life.

Our members come to class as much for an emotional
uplift as a butt
lift. But hey, we are physical beings and there is a certain joy that
comes from looking in the mirror and being proud of the muscle and
shape you see. A toned butt, sculpted shoulders, tighter core and
rocking biceps and triceps...these are a few of our favorite body parts
to develop!
Our goals for you when you come out to one of our
classes? A feeling
of accomplishment, a smile once class is over (and lots of grunts
during class), some sweat dripping down your face and some post-class
